After seeing so many variations of Bueno cakes on Pinterest I just had to give it a go for myself! So here’s my recipe for a Kinder Bueno and Nutella cake:
Ingredients
For the sponge:
225g Butter
225g Caster Sugar
4 Large Eggs
250g Self-Raising Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
150g Dark Chocolate (I used Dr Oetker’s Extra Dark chocolate)
For the buttercream:
125g Butter
375g Icing Sugar
2tbsp Nutella
Kinder Bueno Minis and chocolate sprinkles to decorate
First, prepare two 20cm cake tins whilst melting the chocolate in a bowl.
Next, cream together the butter and sugar until it is smooth. Then add the eggs and melted chocolate.
In a separate bowl, sieve the flour and baking powder a few times until there were no lumps and add this to the mixture.
Once the flour and baking powder is thoroughly mixed in, divide the mixture evenly between the cake tins. Pop the tins in the oven at 180°C for 20 to 25 minutes until the cakes are springy and coming away from the edge of the tins.
Whilst the cakes are cooling, prepare the buttercream frosting by creaming together the butter, Nutella and icing sugar.
Once the cakes have cooled, sandwich them together with half of the frosting and spread the rest on top. Finally, top with Bueno pieces and chocolate sprinkles!
Everyone wanted to help bake this one – it was so much fun to make and made the whole flat smells incredible!
I hope you’ve had a lovely week!
