January was a fun month. If there was something I’d been wanting to do but been putting off, I did it. Here are some of the things that made me smile in January…
Rereading Harry Potter
I watch the movies all the time but I started rereading Harry Potter for the first time in 10 years. Those books make me so happy. Plus, there’s a lot of difference between the books and the films that I’d forgotten about so it’s exciting to finally read them again!
Playing Cities: Skylines
Usually, I feel guilty playing games all the time but not anymore! I’ve been playing a lot of Cities: Skylines and I can’t get enough. It’s a city simulation game and it can be both stressful but a lot of fun. Last time I played, my football stadium nearly burned to the ground because it took 7 days for the fire department to come to the rescue. There’s a fire station literally next door to the stadium.
I wanted shorter hair for a long time so at the beginning of the month, I had my mum cut about 6 inches cut off of my hair. I love it so much although it’s already grown about 2 inches so I’m sure it’s going to need chopping again very soon!
Another big decision we’d all been putting off – my mum, my sister and I went and finally got some new piercings that we’d wanted for a while. I got my second lobe piercings and a helix. The first 2 weeks of healing were a bit of a nightmare and I was like “WHAT HAVE I DONE?” but I’m really happy with how they’re looking now.
Last year I had so much fun baking so this year I wanted to bake more! Even if it is just one or two times a month. My first bake of 2018 was some delicious strawberry cupcakes!
Turtles All the Way Down
I finally read Turtles All the Way Down by John Green and it made me anxious, it made me cry but it also made me smile a lot. You can read my review here.
Date Night watching Star Wars
Will and I finally went to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi at the cinema! We felt like the last people to watch it but we’re so happy we went. (And we had dinner at Five Guys which is always delicious)
Family Holiday Plans
My family booked a trip to Disney Land Paris and we’re all very excited about it!
Normally I share all my favourite photos from the month in these posts but it seems like I was too busy to take photos this time. At least that gives me a goal for the next month: take more photos!!!
I hope you had a lovely January!
