Today I thought I would share my favourite Christmas Shortbread recipe by Tanya Burr!
I have been using this recipe for a few years now. It makes lots of biscuits which is perfect if you’re having guests over or if you’d like to bring something with you when you visit family and friends.
You will need:
300g plain flour
200g softened butter
100g caster sugar
a few drops of vanilla extract
To start, preheat the oven to 130c and line a baking tray. Rub the flour and butter together until you have a crumbly consistency. Next, stir in the caster sugar and vanilla extract until a dough forms. On a floured surface, roll the dough out to 1cm thickness. Use a cutter to cut shapes into the dough and arrange them on the baking tray.
Pop them in the heated oven for 20 minutes or until they are a pale golden colour. Allow them to cool and dust them with icing sugar to look like snow!
