Making Chocolate Apples: Guy Fawkes Night 2017

Tonight is Guy Fawkes Night and I’ll be visiting my mum’s house for lots of yummy food, drinks, family fun and fireworks! I chose to make these chocolate apples to bring along with me. They’re just like toffee apples but so much easier to make and just as fun.

You’ll need:
Greaseproof paper
200g Chocolate
8 Small Apples
Skewers or Lolly Sticks
Decoration (You can use anything from sprinkles to chopped nuts!)

Start by adding a few centimetres of water to a small saucepan and setting on the hob over a medium heat until it starts to boil.

Then put all of the chocolate in a small heatproof bowl and set the bowl on top of the saucepan ensuring the base isn’t touching the water.

Next, you can turn off the heat and gently stir the chocolate whilst the chocolate melts.

Whilst the chocolate is melting you can wash the apples and insert the skewers/ lolly sticks firmly into each apple, just next to the stalk.

Gently dip the apples into the chocolate or use a spoon to cover each apple. As the chocolate starts to cool, you can add your decoration! I used sprinkles, chocolate flakes and salted caramel pieces.

You can then stand the apples on the greaseproof paper and place in the fridge to set!

I just love celebrating Guy Fawkes Night with my family. It’s always so much fun to relax and have fun together before the very busy build-up to Christmas.
Are you doing anything for Guy Fawkes Night this year? 😀
