August was a month full of ear infections, sleeping, and stormy weather. But it was also full of TV shows, reading, family, and productivity! Here are a few of the things that made me smile this month…
I spent a lot of time watching Shadowhunters in August. Will started watching the show with me half way through season 2 and after the season finished we ended up watching it again from the beginning so that he could catch up. I am enjoying it a whole lot more than I ever thought I would and so is he!
Skulduggery Pleasant: Resurrection
I finally finished reading the latest Skulduggery Pleasant book this month and I really enjoyed it! It is so nice to have my favourite detectives back in my life.
Baking a crumble
This month I made an apple and blackberry crumble and it was easy to bake and tasted delicious!
My best friend told me to watch Riverdale on Netflix. One morning I woke up really early and couldn’t get back to sleep so I decided to give Riverdale a go. Little did I know I would watch the whole season in a day and it would be all I spoke and read about for the next 48 hours. I highly recommend it!
The weather was pretty rubbish for most of August but the sunsets were gorgeous.
Watching Moana for the first time (and the second!)
I may have been really ill for half of August but it was the perfect excuse to watch lots of movies. I saw Moana for the first time and I loved it so much!
My Mum and Nan’s birthday
My Mum and my Nan share a birthday at the end of August and it is always so nice to spend some time catching up with my family. Plus we always get some great photos in my mums garden!
Game of Thrones
Every week in August started with breakfast in bed watching Game of Thrones. It was perfect.
When I wasn’t in bed watching movies and TV shows I was playing Animal Crossing New Leaf. I expanded my house, bought all new furniture, I made new friends and I also got given a cherry. This is a massive deal because it was the final fruit my town needed and I’d been waiting for one for years. If you have played Animal Crossing I am sure you know the excitement of receiving a new type of fruit!
Giving in to my love for Autumn
Autumn is my favourite time of year and I try and keep my excitement under control. But 2 weeks into August somebody started reading my old Halloween blog posts and it suddenly hit me that we are so close to Autumn. I’ve spent every day since planning autumn walks, DIY, and Halloween bakes and it has been glorious!
Pay Day Treats
This month Zoe Sugg released her 2017 Zoella Beauty Christmas collection. Last year she won me over with her gingerbread scented hand cream so I just had to try her Snow’ella range. I treated myself to the Winter Wonder Hand hand cream and the Snow’ella body mist! The hand cream is enriched with mint and peony and for me, I think the mist also smells like pine and cranberries. Either way, they look gorgeous and smell very fresh. Now I just have to resist using them until closer to Christmas!
I hope you all have had a lovely summer and that you are enjoying the start of September!
