Thank you so much to the lovely M&C Crazy Blog for nominating me to take part in the Get To Know Me Tag! I haven’t had a chance to take part in a tag in so long so I am actually pretty excited to join in with this one!
Can you stop reading at any time, or does it have to be a certain page or chapter?
I have to finish reading at the end of a chapter and sometimes I actually put little sticky notes throughout my book and I make sure I don’t stop reading until I reach a sticky note. It might sound crazy but it keeps me focused and stops me from getting distracted.
Do you eat or drink anything whilst reading?
I usually keep a water bottle with me when I’m reading because I’m less likely to spill it than a cup of something. As for eating, I get hungry when I read but I try not to eat anything in case I get it in my book.
Can you read listening to music or watching tv?
I can only read if it’s silent or there’s some sort of white noise. Sometimes I put on one of those really long videos of the sea or rain.
One book at a time or several at once?
One book at a time. I read much faster and enjoy it more if I’m focused on one book at a time.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Almost everywhere except I can’t read if I’m in a moving vehicle or in a really crowded space.
Reading out loud or in your head?
I read in my head but sometimes if the book gets really intense I find myself reading out loud really quietly.
Do you read ahead or skip pages?
I try not to skip – sometimes if I am really not enjoying a part of a book I’ll start to skim over some pages. As for reading ahead, the only time I’ve done this is towards the end of the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones when Valentine reveals something about Jace and Clary and I was so mad I read ahead and then had to Google it haha.
Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
I love to keep my books looking new but pages bend, spines break and covers get scratched. I have come to accept that when you are as clumsy as I am these things are inevitable.
Do you write books or just read them?
I just read them. I used to love writing books when I was younger but I am so much better at writing non-fiction.
Five favorite books:
- Harry Potter series
- Skulduggery Pleasant series
- Hush Hush series
- Mortal Instruments series
- I want to say A Series of Unfortunate Events but I would be lying if I didn’t say Twilight because it basically defined my teens and I still find watching the movies so comforting.
The last book that you read?
I’m currently reading Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare.
Light Brown with blonde ombre
Place of Birth?
22 years old and I still can’t answer that question.
Just one in each ear, I’m too scared to get another haha.
Nope. Sometimes I think I could get one and then I remember I am very indecisive and a little too OCD to get a tattoo. I know I would be so happy with it for a while and then I would change my mind and wish it was in a different place or something was slightly different.
Righty or lefty?
Righty when I write but I eat and play sport left handed. I have no idea how or why.
I don’t have any personally but at my Mum’s house we have 1 fish, 2 cats, and 1 dog and at my Dads house there’s 2 cats and 1 dog and I count them all as my little furbabies.
One sister, 5 brothers!
Nope although Will and I live together and have been together 6½ years and act like we’re married so that’s close enough for now!
Reading, watching Netflix, baking, blogging, I play games on Steam and my DS.
There’s a lot of songs that I like but the ones that never change are Sometime Around Midnight by The Airborne Toxic Event, Dustland Fairytale by The Killers or Heaven by The Walkmen.
I watch a crazy amount of shows. I have endless favourites. But here’s the first ones that come to mind…
The Walking Dead
The Big Bang Theory
The Mindy Project
Pretty Little Liars
The SacconeJolys, Tanya Burr, Zoella

I don’t really eat out but when I do I usually go somewhere that does Chinese food or Italian
H&M, Primark, Waterstones, Paperchase
Cats, dogs, elephants, owls…
Blue is my most favourite but I also love reds and purples.
Taylor Swift. The Wombats. Frank Turner.
Believe in love at first sight?
Nope. I think you can be in love with the idea of someone at first sight but you can’t be in love with them if that makes sense.
John Green says it better in Paper Towns:
Not until you saw into my cracks and I saw into yours. Before that we were just looking at ideas of each other, like looking at your window shade, but never seeing inside. But once the vessel cracks, the light can get in. The light can get out.

If you could give your younger self some advice, what would it be?
Whether it’s to 4 year old me or 11 year old me it would be the same advice – If your idea of fun is sitting in a corner with a good book rather than joining in with the other kids that’s perfectly okay. Don’t let anyone make you feel like it isn’t.
Well, that was a crazy amount of questions to answer but it was a lot of fun!
I’m going to nominate a few people to take part but don’t worry if you can’t take part/ don’t want to or if you’ve already done it! 🙂
