Baking an Apple and Blackberry Crumble

For me, nothing says autumn is coming like a good crumble!

You Will Need

An ovenproof dish

For the filling
30g Unsalted Butter
30g Caster Sugar
300g Apples (peeled and chopped)
150g Blackberries
Juice of ½ a lemon
½ tsp Cinnamon

For the topping
120g Plain Flour
50g Caster Sugar
75g Butter

The Filling

In a saucepan, melt the butter and sugar together. Then add the chopped apple and heat until it starts to soften. Once it’s softened, stir in the cinnamon, blackberries, and lemon juice. Pour the filling into an ovenproof dish.

The Topping

In a bowl, mix together the flour and the sugar. Add the butter and use your fingertips to rub it into the flour to make a breadcrumb texture. Pour the topping over the filling in the ovenproof dish.

Finally, you need to pop it in the oven at 180 degrees for around 20-25 minutes until the top goes golden and the fruit is bubbling.

Autumn is my favourite time of year, especially when it comes to DIY and baking!
I am so excited to get creative over the next few months!

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend and enjoying the last days of August
